Venezuela Detains Three Suspected CIA Agents
During the operation, officials reportedly confiscated mobile phones and CIA operational manuals, Cabello said.
The minister stated that the suspects were allegedly part of a planned false-flag operation in the Caribbean Sea, coinciding with U.S. military exercises alongside Trinidad and Tobago. The operation allegedly aimed to fabricate an incident that could serve as a pretext for aggression against Venezuela, he added.
Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil claimed on social media that the government has intelligence suggesting the plot involved plans to "attack a U.S. military ship stationed on that island and then blame Venezuela to justify an attack" on the South American nation.
"These events confirm the ongoing efforts to destabilize Venezuela through both foreign and domestic actors," Cabello said.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting national security through close coordination between civilian authorities and military forces.
"We work every day to prevent harm to the Venezuelan people," he stated.
